Web Accessibility Policy

Gwangju City Library (the "Library") strives to comply with web accessibility so that all users, including people with disabilities and the elderly, can use the website's information and services equally regardless of physical or environmental conditions.

1. Web Accessibility Compliance Declaration

Under Article 46 of the Framework Act on Intelligent Informatization and Article 21 of the Act on the Prohibition of Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities, the Library builds and operates its website aiming to comply with the Korean Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (KWCAG 2.2) and W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) Level AA so all users can freely access the information provided.

The Library continuously checks accessibility compliance when adding new content and revamping systems, and will promptly improve any shortcomings found.

3. Features Provided to Improve Accessibility

  • Skip to content: A "skip to content" link accessible via the Tab key at the top of every page.
  • Multilingual support: Language switching for Korean·English·Chinese pages.
  • Meaningful markup: Uses heading, table (caption·scope), and landmark (header·main·footer) structures.
  • Alt text: Alt text for informative images such as book covers; aria-hidden for decorative elements.
  • Keyboard use: All functions, including menus, search, and application forms, are keyboard-usable.
  • Responsive layout: Content flows flexibly according to screen size and zoom level.
